Summer School
Chinook's Edge School Division operates summer schools throughout the division for students to take courses for credit. Students may take courses in an effort to upgrade existing marks, complete a required course missing from their timetable, or for personal interest.

- Provide proof of prerequisite standing.
- Bring your completed application to your Chinook's Edge high school.

Summer School General Information 2012
When: Summer School runs Monday to Friday. It starts on July 2 until July 27, 2012. Classes are scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and daily attendance is required.
Where: There are three Summer School Campus locations dependent upon enrolment. These locations include Sylvan Lake Career High, Innisfail Career High and Olds Career High.
Cost: There is no cost for high school students registered in Chinook's Edge School Division No. 73 Schools. Students who are not registered with the division are required to pay $40.00 per course. Adult fee is $500.00 per five credit course.
Courses: Students may register in any core course at the high school level including: Chemistry 20/30, Biology 20/30, Science 10/14/24, Math 10 Prep, Math 10C/10-3, Math 20-1/20-2/20-3, Applied & Pure Math 30, Physics 20/30, English 10-1/10-2, 20-1/20-2, 30-1/30-2, Social Studies 10-1/10-2, 20-1/20-2, 30-1/30-2 and CALM. We also offer CTS & option courses such as Psychology & Forensic Science.
Registration: Applications are available at all Chinook's Edge School Division No. 73 High Schools. Students must attach proof of prerequisite standing to their application. For example, if you are applying for Social Studies 30-1, you must show proof that you passed (50%+) in Social Studies 20-1. Please ensure that your Alberta Education Identification Number is provided. This number can be found on any report card.
Attendance: Daily attendance is required. Students who fail to attend daily may be withdrawn from their course. In the event of illness, a note or phone call to the school is required.
Important Summer School Information 2012
- Due to the compressed nature of summer school, students will only be registered in one course at a time.
- No extenstions can be given for course work or assignments. Material not completed by the due date will recieve a mark of zero.
- Students writing diploma exam courses will register to write their diploma at Lindsey Thurber high School in Red Deer or SAIT in Calgary on the first day of classes to be written August 3-12, 2012.
- A final report card will be issued to students in August.
- All summer school students are expected to adhere to the school and Chinook's Edge School Division No. 73 expectations and policies.
CAUTION: Students registered in any 30 level courses for the first time should be cautioned that due to the compressed summer schedule the successful completion of this course may require 6-8 hours per day of school work.
